Signed into law by the President on December 23, 2008, National Park Quarters will be presented over the course of an eleven year series. Officially titled as “America the Beautiful Quarters,” the National Park Quarters series will feature 56 different reverse designs of National Parks or National Sites from each state, US territory, and the District of Columbia.
They are releasing 5 designs each year out of the Denver and Philadelphia Mints in the order they were first designated by the federal government. San Francisco is also striking the American the Beautiful Proof Quarters in extremely low mintages. This program is also known for producing the largest coins the U.S Mint has ever produced, the 5 ounce quarters. Agreed to be one of the finest collectibles available today, the 5 ounce rounds have been produced in extremely low mintages driving their demand through the ceiling.
